Ruby Drake

Belton – Ruby Ashley Drake, 88, widow of Andrew Don Drake, of 205 Poplar Ave. died Monday, Dec. 21, 2009 at the Hospice House in Anderson.

Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Furman and Eva Ashley. She was a member of Second Baptist Church and was retired from Abney Mills. She was twice married, first to the late R. Lee Hawkins.

Surviving are a son, Donnie Hawkins of Belton; three step sons, Larry Drake of Honea Path, Phil Drake and Richard Drake, both of Anderson, a step-daughter, Debbie Lollis of Anderson; two brothers, Ronald Ashley of Belton and Winford Ashley of Honea Path; two sisters, Marian Bratcher of Belton and Carolyn Mitchell of Anderson, and twelve step-grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by a step-daughter, Judy Davis; three brothers, Jack Ashley, Delbert Ashley, and Joe Billy Ashley, and five sisters, Cenie Tallent, Mary Frances Bagwell, Yukie Bratcher, Thelma McGaha, and Virginia Lollis.

Funeral services will be held at 4 PM Wednesday at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel, Honea Path with Dr. Ron Culbertson officiating.

The family will receive friends from 2:30 to 4 PM Wednesday prior to the service. The family is at the home of a sister, Marian Bratcher, 500 Docheno Rd. Online condolences may be made at www.parkerwhitepruitt.com .
