Dorothy Roach

Honea Path – Mrs. Dorothy Smith Roach, 83, formerly of 94 Franklin Street, widow of John William Roach, died Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at National Health Care in Anderson.

Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late John Henry and Sudie Harbin Smith. She was a member of Chiquola Baptist Church and was retired from Becton Dickenson Company.

Surviving are: two daughters, Joyce Chadwick and husband Donnie of Hartsville and Kathy Fleming of Honea Path; two sisters, Lina McDonald of Del Rio, Texas and Sadie Hannah of Taylors; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.. She was predeceased by eight brothers and eleven sisters.

Funeral services will be held 2 PM Saturday at Chiquola Baptist Church with Rev. Ted Coody and Rev. Ronnie Powell officiating. Burial will follow in Eastview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday at Pruitt Funeral Home.
