Hazel Gilmer Cox

Honea Path – Hazel Janette Gilmer Cox, 76, widow of John Leonard (Dickie) Cox, Jr., of 1 Woodland Way, died Monday, November 30, 2009 at AnMed Health Center.

Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Willis John and Daisy Estelle Harter Gilmer. She was a member of Chiquola United Methodist Church. She was a retired R.N. having last worked at The Maples.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by two sisters, Claudia Eugenia Gilmer Holliday and Nina Ruth Gilmer.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jones Brewer officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at Pruitt Funeral Home. The family will be at their respective homes. Online condolences may be made at www.parkerwhitepruitt.com
