George Gymer, Jr.

Honea Path – George William Gymer, Jr., 70, husband of Margaret Champagne Gymer, of 4411 Keowee Rd. died Sunday, November 01, 2009 at the Hospice House in Greenwood.

Born in Rowe, Mass., he was a son of Cora Mae Coolbrith Chesani and the late George William Gymer, Sr. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was a retired machinist with Tex-Marco of Spartanburg.

Surviving are his wife of the home, two sons, Mark Gymer and wife Tammy of Honea Path and Matthew Gymer of Honea Path, a daughter, Diane Johnson of Honea Path, one sister, Ceryce Gymer of North Carolina, ten grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren. He was pre-deceased by a brother Bernard Gymer and a sister, Charlotte Gymer.
