Laurens – Glenna Abrams Pitts Hammond, 78 formerly of 6875 Hwy. 252 died Wednesday at National Health Care of Laurens.
Born in Laurens County she was a daughter of the late Thomas George Abrams and Grace Simmons Abrams. She was a member of Union Baptist Church and was retired from Wal-Mart Distribution Center of Laurens.
She was twice married, first to the late William Maxwell Pitts and then to Roy Hammond of the home. Other survivors include two sons; William Marcus Pitts and wife Jean of Laurens, Richard Alan Pitts and wife Sonna of Laurens, Grandson; Niles Maxwell Pitts, granddaughters; Abby Jean Pitts, Anna Katherine Pitts and Claudia Bett Pitts. She was predeceased by son; Twyman Carroll Pitts, daughter; Lisa Amanda Pitts, sister; Martha Sue Cox, brothers; George, J.P, Benjamin and Robert Abrams.
Graveside services will be 11 A.M. Friday at Union Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Chris Garrison officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Union Baptist Church Building Fund.
