Ruby Alewine

Belton – Ruby Nell Haynes Alewine, 65, wife of Jerry Douglas Alewine, of 200 Alewine Rd., died Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.

Born in Abbeville County, she was a daughter of the late Herman Lee and Alice Cowart Haynes. She was a member of Mt. Bethel Baptist Church and was retired from AnMed Health Center.

Surviving are her husband of the home, two daughters, Rebecca Faye Alewine of Belton and Ronda Gail Roper of Belton, a sister Patty Lollis of Honea Path, and five grandchildren, Kevin Wilson Roper and Kyle Douglas Roper, Nicole Roper, Chad Roper, and Jennifer Ambrose all of Belton. She was pre-deceased by two brothers, David Haynes and herman Lee Haynes, Jr.

Funeral Services will be held at 4 P.M. Friday at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church with Dr. Ron Culbertson officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday at Pruitt Funeral Home, Honea Path. The body will be placed in the church at 3 P.M. Friday. Memorials may be made to the Mt. Bethel Baptist Church Love Fund,2603 Due West Highway, Belton, SC 29627 or to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Rd., Anderson, SC 29621. The family is at the home.
