John Henry Vaughn

Belton – John Henry Vaughn, 74, husband of Mattie Gambrell Vaughn, of 220 Longshore Drive, died Sunday, June 7, 2009 at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.

Born in Abbeville County, he was a son of the late Pickney and Cleo Hinton Vaughn. He was a member of the Donalds Church of God and was retired from VyTech of Anderson.

Surviving are his wife of the home; two sons, Joey Dale Vaughn of Honea Path and Johnny Ray Vaughn of Easley; two brothers Marvin Vaughn and Ervin Vaughn, both of Honea Path; two sisters, Rachel Brock of Anderson and Elizabeth Young of Williamston; three grandchildren, Jessica, Cody and Tara Vaughn; one great-grandchild, Donovan King; a special step-grandchild, Angel Gambrell; nine step-grandchildren and five step- great-grandchildren.

He was pre-deceased by two brothers, James and Horace Vaughn; and a sister, Mamie Page.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Wednesday at the Donalds Church of God with Rev. James Ray Lollis and Rev. Harold Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at Pruitt Funeral Home, Honea Path. The body will be placed in the church at 1 P.M. Wednesday. The family is at the home of a niece, Vickie Todd, 445 Lewis Drive, Belton. Online condolences may be made at www.parkerwhitepruitt.com
