Jerry Crocker, Sr.

Johnston – Jerry Nichols Crocker, Sr., 75, husband of Sara Cody Crocker, of 909 Hillcrest Drive, died Thursday, May 28, 2009 at Edgefield County Hospital.

Born in Spartanburg County he was a son of the late Raymond, Sr. and Ola Nichols Crocker. He was a member of Johnston United Methodist Church where he was active in the choir. He was retired from Riegel Textile Co.

Surviving are his wife of the home, a son, Jerry Crocker, Jr. and wife Lisa of Johnston, a daughter, Cindy Balentine and husband Steve of Johnston, two brothers, Raymond Crocker, Jr. of Union and Don Crocker of Ft. Payne, Al., two sisters, Judy Aman of Welford and Nancy O’Dell of Union, and four grandchildren, Nick and Jessy Crocker, and Becca and Stephen Balentine. He was pre-deceased by a brother Larry Crocker and a sister Jenny Merle Crocker.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday at Johnston United Methodist Church with Rev. Rebecca Shirley and Dr. John Cody, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Sunset Gardens Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends immediately following the committal service at the Johnston United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. The family is at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Steve (Cindy) Balentine, 112 Calhoun St. Memorials may be made to Johnston United Methodist Church, Box 186, Johnston, S.C. 29832.
