George Haynes

Honea Path – George Edgar Haynes, 73, husband of Glenda Ambrose Haynes, of 305 Elizabeth St., died Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.

Born in Abbeville County, he was a son of the late Joe and Margie Bagwell Haynes. He was a member of Broadmouth Baptist Church. He was retired from Ivesters Electrical Co.

Surviving are his wife of the home; children, Councilman Brad and Shannon Vaughn Haynes of Honea Path, Dr. Brett and Jo Haynes Garvin of Newman, Ga., and Mr. Steven and Alison Haynes Campbell of Honea Path; three grandchildren, Cole and Till Garvin, and Dustin Campbell; a brother, Henry Haynes and wife Kathy of Honea Path; and two sisters, Edna Cowart of Donalds and Ethel Haynes of Honea Path. He was pre-deceased by a brother Claude Haynes and a sister Dolly Johnson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Friday at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Paul Cooper and Rev. Mac Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories with Rev. T. W. McGuffin officiating.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 P.M. Thursday at Pruitt Funeral Home. The family is at the home. The family requests that flowers be omitted and memorials be made to Hospice of the Upstate, 1835 Rogers Rd.
