Modesto, CA – Mrs. June D. Sweatt, 84, wife of Bishop Charles Sweatt, of Modesto, CA formerly of Honea Path/Ware Shoals died Friday, Feb. 13, 2009 at her home.

Born in Anderson County she was a daughter of the late Walter and Maggie McClain Young. She was a homemaker and a member of The Church of God of Prophecy and currently first lady (pastor’s wife) of the Delhi, CA church.

Surviving are her husband, Charles; a son, Charles (Don) Sweatt of Ceres, CA; two daughters, Geraldine (Gerri) Sweatt of Modesto, CA, and Anna Sweatt of Reidville, SC; grandson Eric Sweatt of Lake Stevens, WA; granddaughter Leandra Solomon of San Francisco, CA and 3 greats, Ericka, Declan and Cutter.

She was pre-deceased by sisters, Annie Mae Thomas, Lucille Brock, Ellen Griffin, Effie Singleton, Myrtle Fleming, Leola Sweatt, Faye Allen and brother Frank Young all from S.C.

Loving wife, faithful companion, sweetest mom will be greatly missed by her family.

The family will receive friends Sunday, Feb. 22nd from 2 to 5 p.m., at Parker White Pruitt Funeral Home in Ware Shoals.

Graveside services will be held Monday, Feb. 23rd at 11 a.m. at the Due West Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. William Shephard officiating.

Memorial Service will be held at Ware Shoals Church of God of Prophecy, Monday, Feb. 23rd at 2 p.m. following the burial.
