Benny Knighton

Ware Shoals – Benny Eugene Knighton, 56, of 14 Smith St., died Saturday, January 17, 2008 in Columbia, S.C. at the V.A. Hospital.

Born in Greenwood County he was a son of the late Edgar Lee and Beulah Tinsley Knighton. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Benny was owner of Lightnings Wholesale Used Cars and was employed by Marchant Chevrolet and Royal Auto Sales of Charleston. He was a member of the Mill Hill Kids Reunion Committee.

Surviving are two sisters, Joy T. Knighton of Cross Hill, Lula Mae Pruitt of Ware Shoals, and two brothers, Durra Ray Knighton of Gaston, S.C., William (Bill) Hughes of Waterloo, a Godson, Nicholas Hook of Charleston, a niece, Shelly F. Davenport of Cross Hill, a nephew, Justin Lee Fleming of Greenwood, a special friend and companion, Bonnie Earman of Highlands, N.C., and his dog, Butterbean.

Memorial services will be held at 4 P.M. Thursday at Parker-White Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Wicker and Mr. Bobby Russell officiating.

The family is at the home of Toni and Hix Culbreath, 12 W. Jackson St.and will receive friends immediately following the service.
