ARTHUR EARL OWENS

Ware Shoals, Arthur Earl Owens, 81, husband of Marcelle Estes Owens of 9408 Ekom Beach Road died peacefully at his home, Sunday, November 30, 2008. He was born in Greenville County, a son of the late Grady and Pauline Hensley Owens. He was a member of Kings Chapel United Methodist Church and was a veteran of the US Army having served in WWII.

Mr. Owens was owner and operator of Owens’ Body Shop for fifty years and he taught auto body work at Piedmont Technical School for several years. He was Past Master of Brewerton Masonic Lodge #183 and was a Shriner and Scottish Rites.

Surviving besides his wife of the home are: one daughter, Debbie Woods and husband ,
Tim, Ware Shoals, two grandchildren, Kelsey Woods and Matthew Edge; one brother, Ellis Owens and wife, Ruby, Ware Shoals, and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday, 2 pm at Kings Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Frank McCoy officiating.

The family is at the home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Arthur Earl Owens Fund, 9408 Ekom Beach Road, Ware Shoals, S.C. 29692. Parker-White Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
