James McCall

Honea Path – James Sylvester McCall, age 83, husband of Pauline Alewine McCall, went to meet his Lord and Savior, Tuesday, September 30, 2008 at his home.

Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Wilkie Sylvester and Maudie E. Gallaway McCall. He was of the Baptist Faith, a member of Princeton lodge 129 A.F.M and served in the U. S. Army, WWII. He was a retired Superintendent from Greenville County roads and bridges.

Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are: two sons, James Jr. and Jimmy McCall, both of Honea Path; two daughters, Shirley Cooley of Honea Path and Sylvia Farmer of Laurens; two brothers, Lester and William McCall of Honea Path; five sisters, Exie McClain, Rebecca McCoy, Flora McCall all of Honea Path, Lila Carr of McColl S.C. and Lola Brown of Battle Creek, MI.; nine grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Enoch and Wilkie McCall, Sr.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 4PM at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Fuller officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

The family is at the home and will receive friends from 2:30-4:00 PM Thursday at Pruitt Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Upstate 835 Rogers Road Anderson, SC 29621. Online condolences may be made on line at www.parkerwhitepruitt.com.
