Mattie Chapman Ashmore Leppard

Laurens, Mattie was born December 9, 1921 to Ed and Mamie Chapman in Greenville County. She went home to be with the Lord on July 12, 2008 at National Healthcare of Clinton. Mattie was the wife of the late Willie S. Ashmore and the late John Leppard.
She retired from Laurens Shirt Plant .

Mattie was blessed with a son, William C. “Bill” Ashmore , his wife, Cleo and four grandchildren: Randy Ashmore and wife Donna, Carla A. Paysinger and husband, Larry, Brian Padgett and Mark Landreth and wife, Tammy.

Mattie has eight great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren, one of whom is
With her in Heaven.

Mattie was one of eight children with two surviving brothers, James E. Chapman and
wife Frances and Claude Chapman and wife Joan. She was a member of Sharon
Pentecostal Church in Hickory Tavern and Tremont Ave. Church of God in Greenville
She taught Sunday School for many years and was a member of the Sharon Trio.
She was a faithful servant of the Lord. Her greatest joy was serving God and loving her family.

The family will be at the home of her son, Bill Ashmore, 524 Mt. Pleasant Estate Rd., Laurens and will receive friends Monday, 7-9 pm at Parker-White Funeral Home Monday, July 14, 2008. Funeral services 3 pm Tuesday at Sharon Pentecostal Holiness Church, Hickory Tavern, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
