Ernest Gunnells

Donalds – Ernest Eugene “Bud” Gunnells, 89, husband of Ruth Phillips Gunnells, of 336 Williamson Hill Rd., died Monday, May 05, 2008 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Born in Abbeville County, he was a son of the late William Pickney and Bessie McGaha Gunnells. He was of the Baptist Faith. He was retired from Jeffery Dresser/Goodman Conveyer of Belton. He had served in the CC Corps.

Surviving are his wife of the home, four sons, Riley Gunnells and wife Linda of Donalds, Roger Gunnells and wife Karen of Donalds, Ray Gunnells and wife Peggy of Honea Path, and Robert Gunnells and wife Diane of Donalds, three daughters, Mrs. Charles (Mot) Caldwell of Hodges, Mrs. Charlie (Nancy) Coker of Honea Path, and Mrs. Gary (Teasee) Ashley of Honea Path, two sisters, Lillie Mae Lamb of Donalds and Mary Gambrell of Abbeville, twelve grandchildren, and eighteen great-grandchildren, a special nephew, Ralph Gunnells and wife Marie of Graniteville, and special friends, Jim and Linda Lollis of Donalds. He was pre-deceased by an infant daughter Edna Gunnells, three brothers, James, Elmer, and Alvin “Giggs” Gunnells, and a sister, Louise Gunnells Phillips.

Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Wednesday at Pruitt Funeral Home with Rev. T.W. McGuffin officiating. Burial will follow in Eastview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Tuesday at Pruitt Funeral Home. The family is at the home. Online condolences may be made at www.parkerwhitepruitt.com.
