Charles K. Moss

Sumter, SC - Charles K. Moss, 60, husband of Sharon Barrett Moss, died Thursday, February 7, 2008 at Tuomey Regional Medical Center.

Born in Anderson, SC, he was a son of the late Donald P. Moss and the late Mallie Cooley Moss. He received his Masters Degrees in music and music education from the University of South Carolina. He taught for more than 25 years in Sumter School District 2. He was the instructor of music at St. Leo University and USC Sumter-Shaw Campus and was previously the director of music at St. James Lutheran Church and Trinity United Methodist Church. He also taught private piano students. He was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Newberry.

Survivors include is wife; sisters and brother, Glenda Gilmer, William Moss, and Ella Ruth Ramsey all of Honea Path; and a nephew, Patrick Holland of Clemson.

Funeral Services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday in the Eastview Cemetery in Honea Path, SC.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home.

Elmore-Cannon-Stephens Funeral Home and Crematorium of Sumter is in charge of the arrangements.
