Born in Anderson, he was a member of Honea Path First Baptist Church and served in the United States Army in Vietnam. He retired from Timken.
Surviving are: two brothers, Herbert Vaughn Jr. of Honea Path and William Roy (Teresa) Vaughn of Anderson, three sisters, Peggy Packer of Simpsonville, Shirley (Ben) Bowling of Wellford and Patsy Strickland of Honea Path.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Brenda Bentley.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at 3 P.M. Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Garden of Memories with Rev. Jamie Williams officiating.
The family is at the home of his sister, Patsy Strickland, 24 Oak Dr., Honea Path and will receive friends from 2 – 2:45 P.M. at Pruitt Funeral Home prior to the service. Messages of condolences may be made to the family at www.parkerwhitepruitt.com
