Born in Greenwood County, he was a son of Tammy Hammond McCombs. He attended West Main Street Church of God.  Allen was a former firefighter with Laurens County Fire Department Ekom Station 15. He was a member of the South Carolina Firefighters Association. Allen loved his Lord and his family unconditionally. His wife, Jennifer, was his soulmate and the center of his life. He loved every minute spent with his kids and grand kids.

Surviving in addition to his loving wife of 19 years of the home are: his son, Nathan Brown of Ware Shoals; three daughters, Alisha Brown, Belle Hammond and MacKenzie Hammond, all of Ware Shoals; four brother, Randy Hammond and Bill Gleaton, Jr., both of Ware Shoals, Christopher Gleaton of Laurens, and Joseph (Brandy) Gleaton of Ninety Six; his sister, Jennifer Nettles of Greenwood, a granddaughter, Lyla Alford, and two more on the way; his parents-in-law, Vernon and Kim Cox, and Anthony and Diane Smith.

Allen was preceded in death by his grandmother, Compton Hammond, and his uncle, James Hammond

Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Sunday, July 25, 2021 at West Main Street Church of God with Rev. Brian Dye, Rev. Trey Thompson, and Rev. Tim McConnell officiating. Burial will follow in Turkey Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family is at the home of Anthony and Diane Smith, 1129 Rolling Meadows Rd, Gray Court, SC 29645 and will receive friends from 1:30 – 3 P.M. Sunday at the church prior to the service.
