Born in Donalds, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Allen and Mary Emma Sprouse Beasley. She was a member of Donalds Baptist Church and was retired from Head Start of Due West.
Mrs. Ashley is survived by one son, James R. Ashley Jr. and wife Jane of Donalds, three grandchildren, Kelly Hopkins (Skip), Kim McLaughlin (Tom), and Kerri Merchant (Paul) and six great-grandchildren, Will and Luke Hopkins, Jacob and Caleb McLaughlin, and Blake and Braden Allen.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, Joseph, Olin, David, Morris, and Robert Beasley and four sisters, Lucille Mattison, Alice Smith, Ruth Davis, and Edna Woods.
Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Donalds Baptist Church with Rev. Jason Sturkie officiating. Private burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family is at the home of her son and will receive friends from 2 to 3 P.M. Sunday at Donalds Baptist Church prior to the service.
