Belton – Mary Ellen Bratcher Ellison, 84, widow of James “Bud” Haywood Ellison, of 900 Breazeale Street, died Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at the home of her daughter.

Born in Abbeville County, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Allie Mae Hill Bratcher. She was of the Baptist faith and a homemaker.

Surviving are: two sons, James Jr. (Rita) Ellison of Honea Path and Richard (Tina) Ellison of Belton, her daughter, Jessie Ellison and companion Michelle of Belton, two sisters, Doris (Jack) Smith of Due West and Clara (Bill) Mazonkey of Sumter, ten grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by four brothers, Howard, Barney, J.B. and R.E. Bratcher, three sisters, Catherine McGill, Louise Ashley, and Annie Malpass, and a great-great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Monday, August 8, 2016 at M.J. “Dolly” Cooper Veterans Cemetery with Rev. Otis Burns officiating.

The family is at the home of her daughter, 126 Griffin Road, Belton, and will receive friends from 5-7 P.M. Saturday at Pruitt Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.ParkerWhitePruitt.com
