Waterloo – Mary Frances Medlin Coker, 88, of 547 Rocky Top Road, who after an extended period of declining health joyfully and peacefully crossed over into the arms of Jesus at Hospice Care of the Piedmont. She was the wife of Carl Coker and was born in Ware Shoals, SC on June 4, 1928 to the late Luther and Gertrude Medlin.

She was a graduate of then S. C. Medical College and became a Registered Nurse. She had practiced in various locations throughout the southeast as she faithfully followed Carl in his career. She was a member of Ware Shoals First Presbyterian and was lifetime member of the MUSC Alumni Association.

Surviving are her husband of the home, a son, Kevin Coker of the home, a daughter, Denise Coker Fiorentini (Victor) of Ocean Springs, MS, a brother, Joseph D. Medlin of Clinton, two sisters, Margaret Giles of Ware Shoals and Virginia Vaughn of Donalds, three grandchildren, Andrea Marion Carson (Stephen) , Anthony Fiorentini (Rebecca), and Luca Fiorentini, and two great-grandchildren, Christopher Carson and Violet Maristella Carson.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2016 at 2 PM at the Ware Shoals First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Wayne Wicker officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
