Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late Spencer Hastings and Susan Marie Pressley Woods. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was a US Army Veteran of WWII. He was retired from Riegel Textile Corp.
Surviving are: three sons, Ray (Betty) Woods of Ware Shoals, Ken (Carolyn) Woods and Stan (Laura) Woods, all of Surfside Beach, five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers, a sister, and a granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Parker-White Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Emory officiating. Burial will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service.
