Honea Path – James William “Billy” Atkins, 81 of 3 Pinetree Drive, husband of the late Mary Robinson Atkins, died Thursday at Richard Campbell Veterans Nursing Home.

Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late RA Atkin and Carrie Ethel McCoy Atkin. He was retired from Chiquola Manufacturing Company with 50 years not missing a day of work. He attended the Honea Path Church Of God and was a Veteran of the U.S. Army.

Surviving are his twin brother, Joe Atkins and wife Polly of Honea Path and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Walter and Robert Atkins.

Funeral Services will be 2 PM Saturday at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Frank McCoy, Rev. Wendell Bannister and Mr. Mike Butler. Burial will follow in the Garden Of Memories.

The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 2:00 PM Saturday prior to the service at Pruitt Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to Richard Campbell Veterans Nursing Home or to the charity of one’s choice.
