Charles Jones

Honea Path – Charles David Jones, 78, of 7 Poplar Street, widower of Sallie Brown Jones, died Friday at An Med in Anderson.

Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Frank and Pammie Kesler Jones. He was a member of Chiquola Baptist Church, a Master Mason and a Veteran of the US Army having served in Korea and later as a civilian employee of the US Army in Vietnam. He was a self-employed master mechanic.

Surviving are one son; David B. Jones and wife Debby of Belton and one daughter; Elaine Jones Ellison of Belton, four brothers; Dennis, Ed, and Leander Jones all of Honea Path and Larry Jones of Belton, three sisters; Eugenia Brock and Doris Hughes both of Honea Path and Virginia McCoy of Belton and six grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren and a special friend, Tish King. He was predeceased by two daughters; Wanda Jones and Anne Jones Holley, a sister; Iona Whitt, and Greg Holder whom he loved like a son.

Graveside services will be 4 P.M. Sunday at the Garden Of Memories with Rev. Brad Haynes officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:30 – 3:30 PM Sunday at Pruitt Funeral Home.
