Ware Shoals - Sandra Rose Carver Mitchell, 64, wife of Ronald C. Mitchell of 84 Turkey Creek Rd. went to be with the Lord on June 13, 2013 at her home. She was born in Greenville, S.C., a daughter of Jimmie Rose Carver and the late Rev. Roderick “Rod” Carver. She had served as a Missionary in Guatemala for eight years and is retired from Bi-Lo.

High Point, N.C. - Catharine Lyle Smith, 101, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at River Landing at Sandy Ridge with her family by her side. She was born in Edgemoor, S.C. to the late Lafayette Strait Lyle and Frances Catharine Robinson. Catharine attended Winthrop College. She married William Henry Smith in 1939, and he passed away in 1967. Before moving to the Presbyterian Home and then River Landing she lived in Thomasville, N. C. and was very active in the First Presbyterian Church there.
