Anne Ridge

I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.  II Timothy 4:7-8

Florence Antoinette (Anne) Smith Ridge was restored to wholeness on February 24, 2015. She was born to Clyde and Marguerite Smith on September 13, 1938 in Hodges, SC.  She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Johnny.  She is survived by her faithful husband of 56 years, Grover of Honea Path, SC; daughters Lisa (Mike) Butler of Piedmont, SC and Kim (Larry) Good of Taylors, SC.  Undoubtedly her favorite role was as the loving and proud Nana of Edwin Good, Greer, SC, Daniel Good, Clemson, SC and Elyse Butler, Piedmont, SC.

Anne was a graduate of Greenwood High School and Draughon's Business College.  She was retired from Milliken & Company's Honea Path plant where she worked in logistics.  She was a member of First Baptist Church of Honea Path and enjoying being a part of the Young at Heart group there as long as her health allowed.

One of her greatest joys was serving others.  She was selflessly devoted to her family and friends and took great delight in taking care of others' needs.  Whether it be a note of encouragement, a phone call, visit, a pot of her vegetable soup or a delicious dessert, Anne was one of the first to respond when others had a need.

Though faced with many challenges, she was always upbeat and met each one with grace and determination.  She was an inspiration and blessing to all who were privileged to know her.

A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, February 26 at 3pm in the Chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home, Honea Path, SC with Rev. Robert Beaver officiating. The family will visit with friends immediately following the service.  Given her legacy of love for and service to others, the family respectfully asks that those wishing to honor Anne's life do so with memorials to Connie Maxwell Children's Home or Hospice of the Upstate.
