Honea Path – Mrs. Louise Gunnells Phillips, 86, widow of William Alton Phillips, of 609 Otto Lollis Rd., died Monday at her home.

Born in Abbeville County she was a daughter of the late William Pinkney and Bessie McGaha Gunnells. She was a homemaker and attended Honea Path Assembly of God.

Surviving are three sons, Robert Phillips and wife Rebecca of Honea Path, Tommy Phillips of Belton, and Michael Phillips and wife Beth of Honea Path, three daughters, Dorothy Davis and husband Ralph of Honea Path, Janette Poore and husband Lewis of Honea Path, and Debra Kelly and husband Danny of Honea Path, one brother, Ernest (Bud) Gunnells of Donalds, two sisters, Lillie Lamb of Donalds and Mary Gambrell of Abbeville, thirteen grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by three brothers, James Gunnells, Elmer Gunnells, and Alvin “Giggs” Gunnells.

Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday at Pruitt Funeral Home with Rev. Ted Coody, Rev. Paul Cooper, and Rev. Homer Gilmer officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories.
