Mary Lindsay
Honea Path – Mrs. Mary Shirley Lindsay, 80, of 03 Saluda Street, widow of Troy Clifton Lindsay, died Friday, October 2, 2009 at AnMed Health Center in Anderson.
Born in Abbeville County, she was a daughter of the late Dewitt Stewart and Ola Jane Johnson Shirley. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church and was retired from Springs Industries in Honea Path.
Survivors are: a son, Dr. Wayne Lindsay and wife Dr. Sharon of Madison, N.J.; two daughters, Elaine McMahan and husband Tracy and Nancy Lindley and husband Lee all of Honea Path; two brothers Fred Shirley of Taylors and Larry Shirley of Donalds; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two brothers, Harrison and D.S. Shirley; and five sisters, Effie Bratcher, Edith Freeman, “Doll” Daucy Gambrell, Eva Timms and Cleo Cooley.
Funeral Services will be held 2 P.M. Sunday at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Paul Cooper officiating. Burial to follow in the Garden of Memories. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6-8 PM at Pruitt Funeral Home.
