Ware Shoals- JB Brookie, 95, husband of Frances Spearman Brookie of 16246 Hwy. 25 North died Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at Hospice of the Piedmont. Born in Pickens County, he was a son of the late John and Mary Jane Green Brucke.  Mr. Brookie was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church and was Past Master of Princeton Lodge No. 129 A.F.M.  He served in the US Army in France, Belgium and Germany during WWII.

Ware Shoals – Cynthia Elizabeth Ellis Brown, 61, wife of John Brown, of 11 Pineview Drive, died Thursday, October 6, 2011 at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born in Greenwood County, she was a daughter of the late Clifford (Click) Ellis  and Jane Cheatham Ellis. She was a member of the Ware Shoals First Baptist Church and was a former teacher at Sanders Elementary School of Laurens.

Surviving are her husband of the home, a brother, Clifford (Bubba) Ellis, III of Warrenville, and a special cat, Hope Margaret.

Graveside services will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday at Ware Shoals Cemetery with Rev. Leon Jones and Rev. Margaret H. Jennings Todd officiating.

The family will receive friends after the service at the graveside. Tom Snyder

Laurens – Tommy Cook Snyder, 66, of 5 Hansen Circle, died October 11, 2011 at his home.

Born in Greenwood County, he was a son of the late Thomas Calvin and Willie Mae Cook Snyder. He was a member of Waterloo United Methodist Church and had been employed by Flour Daniel.

Ware Shoals – Joseph Grady Davis, 64, of Holloway Rd., Ware Shoals, died  Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at his home.

 Born in Ware Shoals, he was a son of the late Grady and Merle Morgan Davis. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was a retired owner of  Joe Davis Garage. He was a Mason and Shriner.

 Surviving are a son Jeff Davis of Ware Shoals, a daughter, Barbara Davis Cox and husband of Wyomissing, Pa., a sister, Mary Henderson and husband Casey of Ware Shoals, and three grandchildren, Cody Cox, Chandler Davis, and Chelsea Davis. He was pre-deceased by a brother, John Frank Davis and a sister, Lois Boone.

 Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday at Parker-White Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Byron Wood officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

 The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday at Parker-White Funeral Home. The family will be at the homes of Joyce W. Davis, 2940 Mt. Bethel Rd., and Mary Henderson, 10944 Highway 252, Ware Shoals. Online condolences may be made at www.ParkerWhitePruitt.com
