Ware Shoals – James Gary Gray, 80, formerly of
Greenwood – James Alexander Cooper, 89, widower of Elizabeth Timms Cooper, of 2281 Montague Avenue Ext., died Saturday June 23, 2012 at Wesley Commons.
Born in Ware Shoals and reared in the Nations Road Community, he was a son of the late Alexander Foster and Ruby Murff Cooper. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church and retired from Riegel Textile Corporation with 38 years service. He was an avid gardener and Clemson Tiger supporter.
He was a US Army veteran of WWII where he served in the European Theater of Operations as an infantryman. After being injured in battle, he went on to serve as a Military Police Officer in General George Patton’s Home Guard until his discharge.
He is survived by a son, Keith Cooper of Greenwood.
Funeral services will be held at 11AM Tuesday, June 26, 2012 at Parker-White Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jeff Lethco and Rev. George Hill officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

Belton – Jerelean Agnes Campbell McClain, 78, widow of Clyde Junior McClain, of 1529 Bethany Church Rd., died Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Rainey Hospice House.
Born in Abbeville County, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Leona Cleveland Campbell. She was a member of Keowee Baptist Church and was retired from Honea Path Shirtmakers.
Surviving are three sons, Dennis McClain and wife Elaine of Pelzer, Jackie McClain and wife Kathy of Piedmont, and Rickey McClain and wife Donna of Donalds; three daughters, Connie Brock and husband Mike of Honea Path, Debbie Hilton of Belton, and Donna Hoffstetter of Belton; a sister, Evelyn Brock of Anderson; a nephew raised in the home, Marshall Campbell of Wilmington, NC; fourteen grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
She was pre-deceased by a son, Tony Randall McClain; a daughter, Judy Earline McClain; one brother, David Campbell; two sisters, Carolyn Turner and Wilma Brock; a grandson, Travis Brock, and a great-grandson, Tyler Hilton.
Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Friday at Keowee Baptist Church with Rev. Tony Lee and Rev. Carroll Plemmons officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 P.M. Friday at Keowee Baptist Church prior to the service. The family is at the home.
