WARE SHOALS, S.C. Benjamin Franklin Rogers,Sr. 81 , 10 W. Summit Dr., Ware Shoals, husband of Gail Hinton Culbertson Rogers, died Saturday February 7, 2009. He was born in Greenwood County, a son of the late Lewis Newton and Emmie Viola Boggs Rogers. Mr. Rogers was retired from Riegel Textile Corp. and Rogers Plumbing Co. and was a member of West Main Church of God. He served in the Army National Guard.

Mr. Rogers had been married previously, first to the late Clara Lucille Pace, then to the late Kathleen Ponder Wilkerson.

Surviving are: his wife of the home, two sons, Benjamin Franklin Rogers Jr.,Donalds, Floyd Lee Rogers, Statesboro, Ga., and one daughter, Betty Rogers Ashley, Honea Path; two step-sons; Reggie Wilkerson, Laurens and Daniel Culbertson, Laurens; and five stepdaughters Rae W. Pope, Columbia, Carolyn W. Fleming, Westminster, Donna Hampton, Woodruff., Kim Vaughn, Simpsonville, Rhonda Culbertson, Easley; one brother, Fred Rogers, Temple Texas and one sister , Mattie R. Filek, Wild Wood,Fla.. Also twenty seven grandchildren and twenty eight great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a son, Billy Ray Rogers.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 3pm at West Main St. Church of God with Rev. Dr. Charles Smith and Rev. Belvin Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

Active pallbearers will be Rodney Rogers, Joe Redd, Heindrick Rogers, John Stephenson, Kent Vaughn, Odell Johnson and Ralph Vinson.

Honorary escort will be members of the Men’s Sunday School Class.

The body will be placed in the church at 2 pm on Monday.
The family is at the home and will receive friends Sunday, 6-8 pm at Parker-White Funeral Home.
