Ruth Collins Gailey, 71, of 554 Maddox Bridge Rd., widow of Douglas W. Gailey died November 15, 2008 at Hospice House in Anderson. She was born in Oconee County, a daughter of the late William Clyde and Sallie Smith Collins. She was of the Baptist Faith.
Surviving her are: a son , Stephen D. Gailey and wife, Kerri, Anderson; four daughters, Deborah G. Robbins and husband, Wade Graves, Greenville, Frances G. Hammonds and husband Billy Joe, Pelzer, Kathie G. Smith and husband Sam, Donalds, Pat G. Staton and husband, Mike Dyar, Honea Path,
Five brothers; Clyde Collins, Pelzer, Jack Collins, Walhalla, Bobby Collins, Greenville, Hershel Collins, Belton, George Collins, Easley; two sisters, Sue Lester, Pelzer and Betty Bradshaw, Greer , also nine grandchildren, Jason Robbins, Tyler Gailey, Corrie Mansfield, Jennifer Gailey, Meredih Gailey, Andrew Graves, Chelsea Graves, Conner Ferguson and Marlee Ferguson and a special pet, Cletus.
She was pre-deceased by sister, Sallie J. Butler, brother, Jimmy Collins and sister-in-law,
Victoria W. Gailey.
A graveside service will be conducted Monday at 1 pm at Graceland Cemetery, White Horse Road, Greenville. Rev. Bennie Dyar will officiate. Parker-White Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
What Through the radiance which was so bright, Be now forever taken from my sight. Though nothing can bring back the hour, Of splendor, Of glory in the flower. We will grieve not, rather find strength in what remains behind………
