Ware Shoals – Jeanette Mitchell Strawhorn, 86, formerly of 49 Fairview Avenue, widow of Curtis Strawhorn, died Sunday at Due West Retirement Center.
Born in Laurens county, she was a daughter of the late Broadus and Sallie Mae Ridgeway Mitchell. She was a retired seamstress and a member of Welcome Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are two sons and two daughters; Yvonne and Mike Craft of Ruston, La., Barry and Mille Strawhorn of Aiken, Tony and Peggy Strawhorn of Columbia and Debbie Cottingim of Greenville, grandchildren; Doug Craft, Renee Craft, Bryson Strawhorn, Baylor Strawhorn, David Strawhorn, Michael Strawhorn, Steve Cottingim, Ashley Ross and Chad Cottingim, great-grandchildren; Samantha Craft, Clark Craft, Tiffany Craft, Blake Strawhorn, Reed Strawhorn, Ty Strawhorn, Alex Ross, Carson Ross and Bailey Strawhorn. She is survived by one brother; Jim Mitchell, three sisters; Nell Smith, Kathryn Kirkland and Bobbie Jean Quidley. She was predeceased by a daughter; Peggy Elizabeth Strawhorn and son-in-law; Dr. Gary Cottingim and 7 brothers and sisters; Eva Lindley, Dora Marler, Mildred Adams, Luther Mitchell, Mary Blackwell, Karen Gambrell and Arvin Mitchell.
Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Wednesday at Welcome Presbyterian Church with Rev. Wayne Wicker officiating. Burial will follow in Oakbrook Memorial Park.
