Genie Traynham

Ware Shoals - Myrtle Eugenia “Genie” Vanadore Traynham, 66 formerly of 152 Pearson Road Belton, died Wednesday May 21 at 2 Holloway Street in Ware Shoals.

Born in Greenwood county, she was a daughter of the late Paul M. and Margaret Hiott Vanadore. She was a member of Lebanon United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir and was on the administrative board of the church. Genie loved baseball, the LA Dodgers and the Carolina Gamecocks. In her youth she was a sought after sandlot baseball player. She treasured her church, family, friends and all her children.

Surviving are two brothers; Ben Vanadore and wife Gloria of Abbeville and Kerry Vanadore of Ft. Worth Texas, two sisters; Fran Smith of Ft. Worth, Texas and Lethea Vanadore of New York, NY., sisters-in-law; June Vanadore and Helen Smith both of Ware Shoals and Pauline Cooley of Honea Path. She was predeceased by a brother; Buddy Vanadore and a sister; Annie Lee Vanadore.

Funeral services will be 3 P.M. Sunday at Lebanon United Methodist with Rev. Dwaine Stanley and Rev. Anne House officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Saturday at Parker-White Funeral Home. The body will be placed in the church at 2 P.M. Sunday. Memorials may be made to Lebanon United Methodist Church, The family is at their respective homes.
