Honea Path – Annie Ruth Sanders Smith, 86, widow of James Milton Smith, of 102 Orr St., entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior surrounded by her loving family on Friday, February 1, 2008 at National Health Care of Anderson.
Born in Hart County, Ga. she was a daughter of the late Sheppard and Estelle Suttles Sanders. She was a member of the Honea Path Pentecostal Holiness Church and the Sanctuary Sunday School Class. She was retired from Chiquola Mfg. Co. She was twice married, first to the late James Casey.
Surviving are two daughters, Linda Whittington and husband James of Honea Path, and Shirley C. Malone and husband Gerald of Anderson; two brothers, Herbert C. Sanders of Anderson and Fred Sanders of Rossville, Ga.; one sister, Peggy Pitzele of Anderson, six grandchildren, Beverly Compton and husband Aaron of Anderson, Rick Whittington and wife Pam of Honea Path, Barry Todd and wife Sue of Anderson, Scott Todd and wife Holli of Cherokee, N.C., Greg Todd of Anderson, and Scott Malone and wife Debbie of Honea Path.
She is also survived by eighteen great-grandchildren, Justin Compton and wife Jennifer of Anderson, Brittany Compton of Anderson, Josh Whittington of Honea Path, Chrystina Whittington of Anderson, Dalton Whittington of Honea Path, Brandon Brooks of Anderson, Amanda Devore and husband Adam of Honea Path, Angie Autry and husband Chris of Anderson, Keri Powell and husband matt of Anderson, Whitney Wittebort and husband Greg of Piedmont., Casey Todd of Anderson, Nichole Todd of Anderson, Tasha Crowe of Cherokee, N.C., Cassie Crowe of Cherokee, N.C., James Crowe of Cherokee, N.C., Christopher Todd of Anderson, Travis Lawson of Central, and Derek Malone of Honea Path and one great-great grandson, Brandon Crowe of Cherokee, N.C.
She was pre-deceased by three sisters, Sarah Rider, Edna Clark, and Florine Threlkeld, a grandson, Michael Todd, and a great-granddaughter Kandice Todd.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Monday at the Honea Path Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Ted Coody and Rev. Paul Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in the Garden of Memories.
