Honea Path – William Larry Medlock, 67, husband of Angela Gail Perkins Medlock, of Whispering Pines Drive, passed away early Tuesday morning at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Anderson County, he was the son of the late William Arthur Medlock and the late Mary Ellen Coker Medlock Taylor. He was a member of Columbia Baptist Church and retired from Greenwood County Roads Department. Larry was a member of Princeton Lodge #129 A.F.M where he served as Past Master and was the current Chaplain. He was a Mason and Shriner for 47years.
Surviving in addition to his loving wife of 24 years of the home are: his son, William Larry Jr.(Wendy) Medlock of Laurens; four daughters, Melody Ann (Robbie) Haynie of Honea Path, Latasha (Adam) Roach of Iva, Jennifer (Marty) Garner of Belton; and Casey Templeton of Donalds; a special nephew raised in the home, Colton (Shealy) Perkins of Honea Path; his brother, Rodney Taylor of Powell TN; two sisters, Betty (Floyd) Walker of Laurens and Patricia (Mike) Austin of Easley; thirteen grandchildren, Kayla (Jacob) McKinley, Ashlyn Haynie, Abby Haynie, Benton Freeman, Sharon Roach, Will Roach, Marilyn Roach, Lydia Mae Garner, Sarah Grace Garner, Michael Patton, Elijah Patton, Jayden Patton and Ethan Fant; a great-granddaughter, Haynie Austyn McKinley; and close friend Pat Holley of Greenwood.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents, William and Ada Medlock and Furman and Mary Coker; his step father, Walter Taylor; and close friend Barry Holley.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 P.M. Friday, January 27, 2023 at Columbia Baptist Church with Rev. Travis Brooks, Rev. Anthony Kelly and Rev. Robert Fleming officiating. Burial with Masonic Rites will follow in Greenville Memorial Gardens.
