Spartanburg – Gina “Sammy” Kyle Cowen Smith, 41, of Rosemary Road, died Saturday, January 7, 2023 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.
Born in Spartanburg, she was a daughter of Mark Cowen and Rosemary “Barbie” Trammell Hendricks. She was a 1998 graduate of North Myrtle Beach High School and had attended Spartanburg Community College. She was formerly an artist at the Tattoo Warehouse of Spartanburg and Twisted Needle Tattoo and Piercing of Roebuck. She loved her favorite peacefull place, the ocean, at North Myrtle Beach. She was a lover of gardening, music, painting, and tattooing.
She is survived by her maternal grandparents, Larkin Edward and Virginia Coggins Trammell of Spartanburg, her father, Mark Cowen of Spartanburg, her mother and step-father, Rosemary Trammell Hendricks and Ben Hendricks of Spartanburg, a daughter, Samantha Larkin “Blue” Smith of Moore, two half-brothers, T.J. Huckaby of Inman and Caleb Cowen of Rock Hill, a sister, Julia Cowen King of Louisville, KY, a half-sister, Jaime Huckaby Gaddy of Inman and and a grandson, Valentine Ace Connard.
A Celebration of Gina’s Life will be held at 4:30 PM on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at Una First Freewill Baptist Church, Spartanburg with Rev. Wesley Campbell and Rev. Kenneth Cash officiating.
The family is at their respective homes and will receive friends from 4 to 4:30 at the church prior to the service.
