Ware Shoals – Nell Holley Pilgrim, 92, widow of Wallace Hampton Pilgrim, of 154 S. Greenwood Ave, died Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at NHC of Laurens.
Born in Kershaw County, she was a daughter of the late James Gilliam and Martha Elizabeth Byrd Holley. She was a member of Ware Shoals First Baptist Church and a homemaker. Mrs. Pilgrim will always be remembered as a loving wife and mother.
Surviving are: her son, Michael Wallace (Beverly) Pilgrim of Ware Shoals, two daughters, Linda P. Davis of Ware Shoals and Patti P. (Pat) McGehee of Greenwood, a brother, Lee Byrd Holley of Ware Shoals, a sister, Ann Hodges of Greenwood, five grandchildren, Russell (Sally) Davis, Nicole Varnum (Chris Cochran), April (Richard) Taylor, Emily (Todd) Dickson, and Scott (Heather) Pilgrim, four great-grandchildren, Luke Davis, Lindsey Davis (Andy Abernathy), Abby Pilgrim, and Kade Pilgrim, and two great-great grandchildren, Reid Nelson and Audrey Abernathy.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Pilgrim was predeceased by two son-in-law, Wayne Davis and Frank Weathers, a daughter, Judy P. Weathers, two brothers, Thomas and Marvin Holley, two sisters, Bernice Catoe and Sadie Bell, a granddaughter, Rhonda Davis and a great-granddaughter, Kalen Ginn.
Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, September 12, 2015 at Greenwood Memorial Gardens with Rev. Leon Jones and Rev. Byron Wood officiating.
The family is at the home of a daughter, 154 S. Greenwood Ave, Ware Shoals, and will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice. Online condolences may be made to the family at www.ParkerWhitePruitt.com
