Lucy Shaver

Ware Shoals – Lucille Elizabeth Powell Shaver, 91, widow of William “Buddy” Shaver, of 32 N. Greenwood Ave. Ext, died Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Wesley Commons Healthcare.

Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late Edgar and Mary Ruth Thackson Powell. She was of the Methodist faith and attended Ware Shoals Church of God of Prophecy. She was a former member of Eastern Star and retired from Riegel Textile Corp.

Surviving are: two sisters Martha Lee West of Florida and Lilly Florence Rogers of Royston GA, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Jimmie and Mack Powell, and two sisters, Hattie Ruth Hallbrook and Faye Davis.

Entombment services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, September 7, 2014 at the Greenwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Leon Jones officiating. The body will be placed in the Chapel at 1 p.m.
