Ware Shoals – Mrs. Helen Banister Bratcher, 88, wife of Charles Edward “Ed” Bratcher, of 109 South Greenwood Avenue, died at Hospice of Laurens County Monday, May 5, 2014.

 

Born in Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late Marvin I. and Clara Gentry Banister.  She was a member of Gethsemane Church.  She was employed at Riegel Textile Corporation for 31 years and retired from Michelin.

Surviving in addition to her husband of the home are:  two daughters, Nancy Bratcher Ford and husband Richard of Hilton Head and “Tweety” Craft and husband Ray of Honea Path; three sisters, Pauline Hanley, Alma Hall and Maxine Case; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by one brother, John William Banister and one grandchild.

Funeral Services will be held Wednesday at 11 AM at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Lowe and Rev. Tim Dixon officiating.  Burial will follow in Oakbrook Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.  The family is at 1101 Todd Road, Honea Path.
