Aubrey “Brookie” Smith

Honea Path – Aubrey Eugene “Brookie” Smith, 80, of 515 Keowee Rd, died Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Rainy Hospice House in Anderson.

Born in Anderson County, he was a son of the late Ziffie  C. and Faye Shope Smith. He attended the Honea Path Church of God. He was a veteran of the S.C. Army National Guard and owner of Brookie’s Tavern.

Surviving are two sisters, Allie Ashley and Lillie Truelove, both of Honea Path, several nieces and nephews, and a dear and true friend George Black. He was pre-deceased by a brother, Clifford “Chick” Smith, and two sisters, Grace Barnell and Sherron Coleman.

Funeral services will be held at 4 P.M. Saturday at Pruitt Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eric Shuler and Rev. Chris Jarrard officiating. The family will receive friends from 3 to 4 P.M. Saturday at Pruitt Funeral Home prior to the service. The family is at the home of his sister-in-law, Dot Smith, 321 Eastview Street.
