Jimmy Lawson

Honea Path – James Ray Lawson (Jimmy), 63, of 301 Eastview St., died Saturday, October 19, 2013 at his residence.

Born in Spartanburg County, he was a son of the late Burl and Carolyn Wright Lawson.He was of the Baptist faith and was a US Marine Corp veteran of the Vietnam War. He was retired from Stewart – Stevenson. He loved his dog, Rock and being with his grandkids.

Surviving are: a son, James Chad Lawson and wife Kristi of Houston TX, a daughter, Kim Honicutt and husband Larry of Honea Path, four brothers, Jerry Lawson of Honea Path, Junior Lawson of Spartanburg, and Andy and Eddie Wright, both of Houston TX, two sisters, Teresa Lawson of Spartanburg and Barbara Codey of NC, four grandchildren, Cole and Kali Lawson of Houston TX and Trevor and Trinity Honicutt of Honea Path, who affectionately called him “PaPa Jim”. He was predeceased by his mother and father and a sister, Nancy Lawson.

Graveside services with military honors will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, October 24, 2013 at M.J. “Dolly” Cooper veterans cemetery.
