Ware Shoals- Loreen Haygood Pitts, 88, widow of Charles M. Pitts, of 184 Balentine Lake Road, passed away June 6, 2012 at her home.

Born in Anderson County, May 30, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Martha Haygood.  Mrs. Pitts was the last surviving member of her immediate family.  She was retired from Huggins Garment Plant of Donalds, SC.

Mrs. Pitts was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Donalds, SC, where she was a former member of the Joy Club.  She was also a former member of the Hejaz Squares.

Surviving are two daughters, Shelby P. and husband Darvin Workman, and Deborah P.  Marler, and one son, Marion Keith Pitts, all of Hickory Tavern; five grandchildren Marty James and wife Crystal and Chase Pitts, all of Hickory Tavern, Jennifer W. O’Daniel and husband Nathan of Roebuck, Lori Workman of Fountain Inn, and Wendy Workman of Laurens; and five great-grandchildren Judson and Jackson James and Lee Pitts, all of Hickory Tavern and Jenna and Grayson O’Daniel of Roebuck.

She was predeceased by four brothers, Clyde, James, Ralph, and Rufus Haygood; two sisters, Nellie Tutton and Christine South; a son-in-law Tommy Marler; and a great-grandson Caleb O’Daniel.

The receiving of friends and family will be Saturday from 7-9 at Parker White Funeral Home of Ware Shoals, SC.. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 at Parker White Funeral Home, with the Rev. Robert Emory and Rev. Hans Wunch officiating. The body will be placed in the chapel one hour prior to the service.  Burial will follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

Active pallbearers will be Marty James, Judson James, Chase Pitts, Nathan O’Daniel, George James, and Travis South.
